About

Anderson-Sell Lymphedema Therapy is located just off N.E. Stallings Drive and Appleby Sand Road in Nacogdoches, Texas.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University at Commerce and was Certified  by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies as a Lymphedema Therapist in 2004.

Let's define some terms: (lymph is fluid filled with proteins, large fat cells, and other extra cellular materials - and edema is fluid swelling that doesn't go away).  Lymph accumulates because it is not transported out of a body space by lymph collectors.  It is not moved by a circulatory pump but by movements of the body.

I use an electric table for therapy sessions which allows me to lower it so that someone with limited use of their legs can easily begin therapy. The heated table pad and the water filled form-a-tech aids allow for comfort when mastectomy and heart patient are lying face down.  Infrasonic treatments help drain lymph and enhance fluid movement reducing swelling.  Heated lotion is used on the scar tissue often present in those suffering from lymphedema.

You will enjoy the restorative feelings of manual lymphatic drainage, It is an effective choice for those who have primary (inherited) lymphedema. or secondary (trauma induced) lymphedema.  Your therapy is always tailored for your own unique needs and your treatment plan is important in managing the changes in lifestyle that will happen to you as a result of this medical condition.

The therapy sessions are $80/hour- paid by the client/patient.  Insurance billing is the individuals responsibility.

Physician referrals are usual after trauma, but anyone can schedule  a treatment session for general and restorative sessions.  Diabetics, those with peripheral neuropathy, heart patients with fluid buildup, cancer patients, those with fibromyalgia, arthritis and rheumatism, surgical patients with scaring, and those who have had lyposuction  tummy tucks, breast augmentation or reduction all benefit from tymphatic manual therapy.  These are only a few of the reasons to schedule a session.  THE BEST REASON TO ENHANCE YOUR LYMPHATIC HEALTH IS IT FEELS WONDERFUL.

Learning self care and bringing a partner to assist in and also learn lymph therapy protocols is one way to make this an economic investment in your health.

All appointments should be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

Turn off all electornic devices when you enter the reception area and leave the daily routine behind.

The Academy of Lymphatic Studies,  hosts a website for patients, and those interested in learning how to live with the life long effects of lymphedema (www.acols.com}.
